Selecting the most appropriate tools for conducting instrumental gait analysis requires a rigorous integration of the psychometric prerequisites of the biomarkers of interest, taking into account both the target populations and the evaluation context. In this context, a systematic literature review was conducted to assess the psychometric properties of biomarkers used in instrumental gait analysis, with a focus on sagittal kinematic biomarkers in individuals with neurological conditions. The psychometric criteria were examined in light of international standards, particularly those proposed by the COSMIN consensus. The goal is to obtain data that can, on one hand, support the selection of the most suitable tools for clinical evaluation, and on the other hand, establish a set of specifications for manufacturers. This approach is part of a broader effort to improve the scientific robustness and clinical relevance of instrumental gait analyses. |
