A former industrial city, the French textile capital, a pioneer of the railway and the industrial use of electricity, Mulhouse suffered from deindustrialization at the end of the last century. Mulhouse is now catching its second wind, thanks in part to its location at the geographic center of Europe, less than an hour from Basel in Switzerland and Freiburg in Germany.
SOFAMEA is also at a crossroads. Human movement capture and processing technologies have evolved very rapidly, as have new technologies for movement and gait rehabilitation, particularly through robotics.
A large number of modalities coexist for the analysis of human movement in clinical practice, research, or both. Mulhouse 2026 will be an opportunity to discover the latest motion capture and gait rehabilitation technologies while (re)discovering the added value of proven technologies for clinical research. Mulhouse 2026 will also be an opportunity to address the issue of motion data sharing and national and international collaborations.
Come to Mulhouse in January 2026, and let's put intelligence in motion together!
